Let’s press pause together.
I believe that a special kind of magic happens when families slow down and invite me into their home or favourite place to capture them together. It’s a collaboration of their willingness to be vulnerable, and my ability to meet them where they are at. The end result is a film and photos full of honesty, beauty, and love.
What’s involved?
It's an easy, laid-back day. I'm less like a photographer asking you to look at me and smile, and more like a friend hanging out with you who just happened to bring her camera. I won’t be shooting the whole time, instead picking moments to document as I see them.
Through this different perspective expect lots of tears and laughs when you get to see just how wonderful your life together is as you gather around the computer to see your photos and snuggle up on the lounge to watch your film.
Ideal for the family who wants to remember all the nuances of everyday life to celebrate the importance of the here and now. It all begins with a phone consult with me where we’ll plan your session around what’s most meaningful to you.
When you book a session you’ll get
Client Prep Guide
A comprehensive Client Prep guide that covers everything you need to know about how to prepare and what to expect during your session.
Video/Phone Call
A “face to face” video call in the lead up to your session to chat through details, meet each other if we haven’t already, and talk about any questions or concerns you may have.
All Inclusive Packages
When you do a session with me you’ll get access to all of the best high res digital images that I made during your session ‘cause my photos tell a story and I can’t have you walking away with just a few..
FAQ
Why are films so much more expensive?
I have spent years developing my craft as a storyteller, and thousands of dollars on equipment to be able to shoot and edit video. I spend anywhere from 15-20hrs (sometimes even longer) to create a film, and it’s not something I can sit down and work on in small blocks of time. Video requires a great deal of time spent editing to get things just right, far more time than it takes for photos and an even greater amount of creative energy. It might seem expensive, and for sure it’s a huge investment that not every family can afford, but I guarantee you it's worth it and the value of that film will increase with every year that goes by after you've had it made.
Can I choose the music for my film?
Choosing the right song for your film is almost an art in and of itself. I only use licensed music, so commercial songs you hear on the radio won’t be an option anyway since it would be illegal for me to use them. If you have a genre preference I’m open to hearing more about that, but generally I recommend leaving the song choice with me. I’m pretty good at it, I promise ;)
What if we don’t really want to do our film at home? Do we have any other options?
Absolutely. I get it. The thought of doing a film at home can be stressful for some people. If it helps at all, know that the house does not have to be sparkly and clean for your film. Lived in is MORE than ok. But maybe you just want to make your film in a place that’s not your home. For this, I would recommend booking an AirBnb or a house on Stayz or Riparide, and plan a little family getaway and I’ll come for part of your stay to do your film. Or I’d also be down with a camping trip! The options are endless. I do recommend though having an indoor option for the film so that we can shoot in any weather.
Do you travel? Could we book you to come to us?
Yeah for sure, I’m open to travelling. I would ask that travel expenses to your location are covered, including accomodation and flights if necessary from SYD airport. Join my list to be first to know when travel sessions become available.
What’s your rescheduling policy?
If I’m even remotely feeling unwell - I’m going to reschedule your session. I’m not willing to risk turning up to a session with a cough or a sniffle in the middle of a pandemic, and I would expect the same from you. Seasonal allergies, etc are different. But if you or the children are unwell, please tell me and we’ll reschedule. I don’t mind rescheduling at all and have extra days built into my calendar specifically for this reason.
Do you do birthday parties or extended family sessions?
I don’t do parties or events but will happily shoot an extended family session in a documentary style.
